STEP 1: Select the Course you want to undertake
STEP 2: Make Payment
- Once you identify the type of training you want to undertake you proceed to purchase it by clicking on the button buy, ensure the M-Pesa number that you entered has the require funds.
- A pop-up message will be sent directly to your Mpesa Number that you entered for you to input your M-Pesa Pin for transaction to be completed.
STEP 3: Begin your course
- Once transaction is completed you immediately get access to all modules in that particular course for 60 days
STEP 4: Attempt an evaluation test
- Once you are through with the modules before expiry of 60 days, attempt an evaluation test, this evaluation is meant to assess whether objectives of the training have been achieved which is conducted in form of simple multiple choice questions.
- One is expected to get 50% and above in order to get a certificate. In the event that one does not get the 50% in first attempt, then he/she will be able to see a transcript on performance whereby he/she can be able to see questions that were answered correctly and those that were incorrectly answered. Thereafter one is given second and third chance to attempt.
STEP 5: Certification
- Once you have successfully passed the evaluation test, you can download your certificate.
- If you need a hard copy certificate just click request certificate or email us at training@fedan.co.ke and your certificate will be prepared within 3 days at a fee of Kshs 500.00 and you can organize to collect it from our offices. Payment for certificate can be done either through:

Introduction HAZMAT play an important role in our daily lives in that the use hazardous materials has become a norm in almost every work place. These range from industrial use to domestic use for instance in manufacturing industry, hospital, domestic cleaning, cooking, painting, fuel cars, manufacture of clothing, swimming pool maintenance, science laboratories in schools and many more. However transportation and storage of hazmat introduces some inherent risks to the public, the environment, and property and therefore appropriate management is very important.
Our Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) training are categorized as follows:
a. HAZMAT awareness level.
b. HAZMAT Operators level.
c. HAZMAT Technician level.
d. Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40 hours, 24 hour and 8 hours.
This course is the first level of HAZMAT training often whereby you are trained to know how to recognize HAZMAT emergencies, protect yourself and notify the proper HAZMAT professionals. Employees who are considered HAZMAT employees must be familiar on safe handling of the material.
HAZMAT Employees
These employees include any individual who in the course of his duty is involved in the following activities:
a. Loads, unloads or handles hazardous materials.
b. Is responsible for safely transporting hazardous materials.
c. Prepares hazardous materials for transportation.
d. Driver of vehicles transporting hazardous materials.
e. Stores hazardous materials.
f. Responding to hazardous material incidents e.g. fire fighters or individual company Emergency Response teams.
This online course shall focus on the first category the awareness level.
Objectives of this Course
The main aim of this hazardous materials and dangerous goods awareness course is to ensure safety of workers and the environment. Each hazard comes with its own side effects and damage potential. This course shall seek to achieve the following objectives:
a. To create a general awareness on hazardous materials on what hazardous material is and its associated risks.
b. To create an understanding of potential outcome of hazardous material.
c. To reduce risks associated with hazardous materials during packaging, transportation and storage.
d. To create an improvement in organization response to hazardous material.
e. To enhance individuals ‘proficiencies in HAZMAT handling.
f. To enhance knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to safely and effectively work at the proximity of hazardous materials, manage initial activities of emergency involving hazardous materials until it’s reported to the relevant competent authority.
g. To create an understanding of Material Safety Data Sheet MSDS.
